Heartland Vs Ikorodu City Preview: The Naze Millionaires hound the Oga Boys from Lagos

The Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 7 fixture presents a peculiar challenge for Heartland FC who are at home to topflight debutants, Ikorodu City.

Unbeaten in two games after a pulsating game at Maiduguri against El Kanemi Warriors, Heartland is poised to hurt the visitors from Lagos and thus earn their second win of the campaign.

The lads showed grit tenacity and mental strength in the far North after spending days on the road and the shared spoils no doubt soothe the pains of the long journey.

The Warm reception they received from the fans when they touched down the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Tuesday Evening should serve as a booster to do more for the resilient fans.

Goalkeeper Chukwuebuka Nwokoecha who was the Man of the Match for Heartland in Maiduguri appreciated the fans for their priceless gesture and he urged the fans to become the 12th person against Ikorodu City.

“We felt special we felt appreciated we felt loved , immediately they sighted the bus they rushed down to the Stadium to welcome us as if we won a trophy,” Nwokoecha told Heartland FC Media.

“We are under compulsion to replicate their good gesture with a good performance against Ikorodu City. We are already on the way up and we do not want anything to halt the moving train.”

He promised that he and his teammates are battle ready to reward the fans, the Coaches and the good People of Imo State for their Love and support to the team.
