Kano Pillars Vs Heartland Preview: The Naze Millionaires hunt for positive result in Kano
Heartland FC will set out to extend their unbeaten streak when they face Kano Pillars on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 12 tie.
The game initially billed for Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina was changed at the last minute to Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano at the behest of the NPFL who disclosed that the home ground of Sai Masu Gida had been inspected and fit to host league games from the weekend game.
The Naze Millionaires are undaunted despite the change of venue and are eager to prove that they won’t be overawed by Kano Pillars in spite of the presence of top players like Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi and Rabiu Ali.
“We are grateful to God for a hitch free journey to Kano. We are here for a purpose and we are determined to achieve that,” Charles Uzor, Heartland FC’s Chief coach told the club’s media.
“To be frank we are not happy with the sudden change of venue when we were already Katsina bound but we won’t let that to distract us. We can only do what we have control over and not otherwise. We are going to play very well and plan for the game.
“We are a fit squad to pick from and the players won’t allow the presence of Ahmed Musa and his other teammates to disturb them. It is a game we have come to do well and we shall not return to Owerri without getting a positive result.”
Heartland lost 2-1 in Kano last season through a disputable late goal but the Owerri side are poised to correct the wrongs of last season this term.
