Heartland vs Nasarawa United Preview: The Naze Millionaires poised to return to winning ways
Barely four days after the slim loss to Kwara United in Ilorin, Heartland FC will have the chance to right that wrong when they trade tackles with Nasarawa United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday before their expectant darling fans.
The tie is one of the Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 15 Fixtures lined up for the weekend and the Naze Millionaires will be eager to return to winning ways having lost just one game in the last six games.
While Heartland had a 5 game unbeaten run before it was snapped in Ilorin by Kwara United on Wednesday, Nasarawa United lost 4 games on the bounce before getting a home win on Wednesday against Bendel Insurance whom they laboured to beat 2-1.
The fans and Supporters of Heartland are expected to turn up in their numbers to cheer the team to victory something akin to last weekend Oriental derby against Enugu Rangers which was a thrilling contest between both clubs despite ending in a goalless draw.
The adrenaline rush is high as the team prepare to devour Nasarawa United in Owerri no wonder Stand-in Skipper Peters Afoloyan opines that the lads are pumped up to reward the fans with a good outing on Sunday.
“We can’t wait to go out to reward our fans and our darling Governor for his support,” Afolayan told Heartland Media.
“Our fans came out in the game against Rangers and even though we didn’t win they were very supportive. We need to reward our fans and our beloved Governor who came to watch us last Sunday.”

Before the defeat to Kwara United, Heartland had won three straight games before the consecutive draws in Kano and Owerri and knowing that they are just two points away from the drop zone despite being in the 12th spot with 17 points, the players will be more than determined to deliver the three points.
